MyDay Champs

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

The short version

Every family is linked to one parent's email address and mobile number. We use them to run your account, confirm it is you, and keep one account per family.

Your family's data is kept on your own device and backed up to your parent account on our server, so you can restore it or use it on another device. You can delete the account and backup at any time.

We send tips and offers only if you tick the separate, optional box, and you can switch them off in Settings at any time.

Children never have accounts. There is no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

1. Who we are

MyDay Champs is operated from India. For any privacy question, to make a request about your data, or to raise a complaint, use the contact form on our website. It reaches a person, not a mailbox nobody reads, and we reply to the address you give us.

2. What the app stores, and where

When you set up the app it asks for information about your child so it can personalise the experience. All of it is written to your browser's local storage on the device you are using. It stays there until you delete it.

What is storedWhyWhere it goes

What leaves your device, and only when you choose

Once a parent account is set up, the whole family record above is backed up to our server. See section 7.

If you use the Feature Requests screen and tap send, the app opens WhatsApp or our contact form with a message you can read before sending. It contains your suggestions, the number of children set up, and whether you are on a free or paid plan. It does not contain your children's names, photos, scores or writing. Nothing is transmitted automatically — if you never tap send, we never receive anything.

3. Children's data

This app is designed for parents to use with their children. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, a child is anyone under eighteen, and their personal data requires verifiable parental consent.

4. What we do not do

5. Payments

If you buy a plan, the payment is handled by a licensed payment provider or by UPI transfer. Card and banking details are entered on the provider's own system and are never seen or stored by us. We record against your parent account only which plan you have, until when, and how it was paid for, including any free-access code you used.

6. Website visit counts and optional product analytics

Visit counts. We count visits to our website ourselves, without cookies and without storing anyone's IP address. When a page opens, we record the day, the page, the website or app the visit came from (for example "Instagram" or "Google Search"), the device type, and a rough region taken from the browser's time zone. Each visitor gets an anonymous id made from a code that changes every day, so the same person cannot be recognised from one day to the next. We also note, without any name attached, when an anonymous visitor opens the app, asks for a sign-up code, signs up or uses a free-access code, so we can see which channels bring families. Nothing a child does inside the app is part of this.

Off by default. In Settings, a parent can choose to "share anonymous usage" to help us understand whether the app is actually being used. If switched on, the app sends a small, non-identifying signal: a randomly generated id (not linked to any name), which day of use this is, your plan type, and how many children are set up.

It never includes a child's name, date of birth, school, scores, diary entries, photos, or anything they have written — none of that is technically capable of being sent, whether this setting is on or off. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, and the id is discarded when you do.

7. Parent account and backup

Before a family is set up, a parent gives their email address and Indian mobile number. There is no password: we email a 6-digit code that works once, for 10 minutes. Each email address and each mobile number can belong to only one family account.

What we keepWhy
The parent's email address and mobile number, when the account was created, when consent was given, and the last sign-in timeTo run the account, send sign-in codes, contact you about your account or purchases, keep one account per family, and record your consent
Whether you agreed to tips and offers, and whenSo we contact you for marketing only if you said yes. You can change it in Settings
A copy of the family's app data: everything listed in section 2, including children's names, activity, writing and any task photosSo you can restore it or use it on another device. We keep only the latest copy
A sign-in cookie on your deviceTo keep you signed in for up to 60 days. It cannot be read by the app's scripts

Where it is stored: on our hosting provider's servers in Mumbai, India (Hostinger). Sign-in code emails are sent through our hosting provider's mail service.

Your control: Sign out stops backups from that device. Delete my account and backup permanently erases your email, mobile number, sessions and backup from our server straight away. Your data on your own device is not affected by either. Marketing can be switched off in Settings at any time without affecting your account.

Who sees your details: MyDay Champs' operator keeps a record of registered parents' email addresses and mobile numbers for account administration and, only where you agreed, marketing. They are not shared with or sold to anyone else.

Backups from two devices: if two phones back up the same account, the app will not silently let an older phone overwrite a newer backup. It asks you which to keep.

8. Moving data between devices

Without an account, you can use the manual "move to another device" feature instead. It copies your family data to your device's clipboard so you can paste it into the app on another device. That transfer happens entirely between your own devices and passes through no server of ours. Take care where you paste it, as it contains your family's information.

9. Cookies

We use no tracking or advertising cookies. The app uses your browser's local storage to remember your family's data on your device, which is what makes the app work offline. If you sign in, one essential cookie keeps you signed in. It is not used for anything else.

10. How long data is kept

Data stays on your device until you remove it. You are in full control: use Settings → Reset inside the app, or clear your browser's site data. Uninstalling or clearing your browser data permanently erases everything, including photos. We keep your parent account, contact details and latest backup until you delete the account, which you can do at any time in Settings. Sign-in codes are deleted as soon as they are used or expire, and expired sessions are removed automatically.

11. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you have rights to access, correct and erase your personal data, to nominate someone to act for you, and to raise a grievance. For data on your device, you can exercise access, correction and erasure directly inside the app at any time. For a backup on our server, Restore gives you access to it, backing up again corrects it, and Delete my account and backup erases it. For anything relating to purchase records we hold, or to raise a grievance, use the contact form on our website and we will respond within 30 days.

12. Security

Data on your device is protected by the security of your own device and browser. We recommend a screen lock on any shared family device, and a grown-up PIN that your children do not know. For parent accounts: everything travels over encrypted HTTPS; sign-in codes are stored only as a one-way hash, expire after 10 minutes and stop working after 5 wrong tries; sessions use a random token that is also stored only as a hash; and the account database sits outside the website's public folder, where it cannot be downloaded. If we ever discover a breach affecting account data, we will tell affected parents and the Data Protection Board as the DPDP Act requires.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Any feature that would send data off your device will be optional and will ask for your clear consent first.

14. Contact

Questions, requests or complaints: contact form, or WhatsApp us on +91 95822 09102.
